Alte Glaserei – forum at the Nordbahntrasse
The Alte Glaserei (old glaziery) is the new forum at the Nordbahntrasse directly at the Solar Campus, opposite of Mirker Bahnhof. This new public space was created from former industrial halls at Juliusstrasse 12. Its focus lies on the examination of the human-nature relationship in our cities. Thematically, the Alte Glaserei shifts its focus on the future, particularly on how we will live and use resources in the future and where life and living space will be made possible.
The Alte Glaserei offers space as a location for the Solar Decathlon Europe 21/22, the Living Lab. NRW and much more. The Alte Feuerwache and the Kulturkindergarten, in particular, implement animal- and plant-based education for children and families in Wuppertal and many other social activities. The sponsor of the whole project, Publik e.V., supplements this offer in political education and coordinates numerous activities brought in by the various actors. Supporters and contributors include the Dr. Werner Jackstädt Stiftung, the GWG, Ackerhelden, IKEA, Bauking, Hörmann, Wupperwerft and Dach der Stadt.
